Jerez: Warm-up

Sete Gibernau has gone fastest in the morning warm-up session for the opening MotoGP round at Jerez with a time of 1:40.916 on his Ducati.

The Spaniard was joined in the top three by his Ducati team-mate and pole position man Loris Capirossi, who went third quickest with 1:41.567. The only rider to split the pair was Dani Pedrosa on the Repsol Honda with 1:41.271.

Valentino Rossi was sixth quickest, following a disastrous qualifying session on Satruday, which saw him fall on oil dropped by another bike, and eventually qualify in ninth place on the Camel Yamaha. Britain’s James Ellison was 19th fastest on the Tech 3 Yamaha bike.

In the 250cc warm-up, Fortuna Aprilia riders Hector Barbera and Jorge Lorenzo went fastest, with both riders managing 1:45 second laps. Closest to the pair was Andrea Dovizioso on the Humangest Honda with 1:46.009, followed by team-mate Yuki Takahashi with 1:46.220. Britian’s Chaz Davies was 17th fastest with 1:48.388.

And in 125cc warm-up, Alvaro Bautista was fastest with 1:48.181 on the MVA Aspar Aprilia, followed by Lukas Pesek on the Derbi with 1:48.727, and gabor Talmacsi on the Humangest Honda with 1:49.268. Bradley Smith was 29th fastest on the Repsol Honda with 1:51.871.
