Melandri's weight issue

1 of 1

Marco Melandri reckons he will be in better form at the IRTA test in Qatar having resolved a front-end problem he suffered in Phillip Island recently.

Melandri was complaining of front-end grip problems in Australia but went in the wrong direction to try and eradicate the trouble.

The Italian ran out of time to test the set-up he believes will work when he resumes winter testing in Qatar on February 13. He said: “At Phillip Island the bike was pushing a lot in the front and I thought it was too heavy with too much weight on the front. But when I tried to make the front a bit higher to make it lighter I understood it was so much worse.

“We needed to put more weight on the front but we didn’t get chance to try it in Phillip Island. I’m sure it will be better in Qatar.”
