Nakano motivated

New Honda recruit Shinya Nakano is determined not to blow his big MotoGP chance on board the new RC212V after quitting Kawasaki’s factory team at the end of 2006.

Nakano spent three years as Kawasaki’s number one rider but left to sign a deal with the Konica Minolta Honda squad, replacing fellow Japanese rider Makoto Tamada.

Despite a sluggish start in testing on the new Honda V4, Nakano claims his motivation hasn’t been rocked after disappointing results in the Sepang and Phillip Island tests.

“Everything is new and I have a new target so I’m motivated. It’s a step forward for me after three years with the factory team at Kawasaki. I was looking for another challenge and the Konica Minolta team is a good opportunity for me because MotoGP is more and more competitive and you need to be full of motivation, ”said Nakano.
