Hayden wary of Qatar

Nicky Hayden said he doesn’t know what to expect from the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.

The MotoGP champion has said this ahead of testing Honda’s new 800cc RC212V for the first time in the Middle East.

Hayden got his winter testing campaign up and running in Australia recently when he clocked the fastest time at Phillip Island.

He finished second in last year’s Qatar GP but refused to give away too much on his expectations for the IRTA test, which kicks off on February 13, 2007 for three days.

The 25-year-old, who is preparing for his fifth season in MotoGP, said: “I could sit here and give you some prediction but I would look like a dummy.

“Sometimes you think a track is going to be good and you get there and it’s totally the opposite.

And he added: “It could be tough for us with that long straight and right now horsepower is our biggest downfall.”
