OJ to repay Kawasaki

Former world 250 champion Olivier Jacque is confident he can repay the faith Kawasaki MotoGP bosses have shown in him after the French rider was plucked from the wilderness to make a full-time premier class return in 2007.

Jacque hasn’t raced full-time in MotoGP since a tough year with Yamaha in 2003, but he was signed by Kawasaki having been the ZX-RR test and development rider since the beginning of ’05.

Gradually working his way back up to speed, Jacque said he wants to show that recalling him wasn’t a mistake.

“I am very happy with Kawasaki. When I tested the bike last November we had some technical problems but very few. I could feel straightaway the potential of the bike was good and now it is going very well. We are trying to understand how the 800 works on the track. I feel fit, I feel ready to race and I feel I can have very good season to help Kawasaki,” “said Jacque.
