Hoffman promises more

Alex Hofmann says he’s got plenty more to come in the build up to the new MotoGP season after he finished the recent Phillip Island test in Australia with the sixth fastest time.

Hofmann is desperate to show his true potential on the big stage having been given a chance on the D’Antin Ducati GP7 in 2007 when it looked like he was to lose his ride at the end of last season.

Having struggled on Dunlop tyres in 2006, Hofmann’s ride was linked to a number of riders, including British World Superbike champions Neil Hodgson and James Toseland.

Partnering experienced Brazilian Alex Barros this year, Hofmann said: “There is still a lot to do but it is important to get the feeling back. I am still not at 100 per cent with the Bridgstone tyres and that’s why it takes so many laps just to get used to everything.”

“The test in Malaysia was my first on the 800 and I wasn’t physically fit.  It was my first ride since the last race in Valencia, and I finished with a crash. It just takes a little bit of time to get used to it and feel good and comfortable and I will only improve and get better.”
