Danny Webb confident in fitness for Sepang

Danny Webb is confident he will be fit for the Sepang 125GP next weekend after he suffered more injury misery in Phillip Island.

A massive warm-up high-side forced him to miss last Sunday’s Australian GP, but Webb is hoping to be close to full fitness for the Malaysia clash.

Already nursing a broken right collarbone he suffered in a motocross accident three weeks ago, Webb suffered a nasty injury to the small finger on his left hand as he spectacularly crashed at the last corner in the morning warm-up session.

He needed a skin graft in Melbourne on Sunday night but is confident he will be fit for the Sepang GP in Malaysia later this month.

“Luckily I didn’t aggravate the collarbone but it was a big crash. I’m disappointed to miss the race but relieved the shoulder didn’t suffer any more damage. I had a big slide on the rear but as it came back I lost the front”, said Webb, who completely destroyed his helmet and leathers in the tumble.

“It was best not to race and risk more problems. I felt a bit dizzy also and the shoulder is weak, but with a bit of rest I’m sure I’ll be fine for Malaysia”, said the Aprilia rider.
