Valentino Rossi expects strong Honda finish

Valentino Rossi believes that Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso will be strong challengers for victories in the final part of the 2009 MotoGP world championship.
Having gone over a year without a premier class victory – its longest losing streak since 1982 – Honda has now won two out of the last three races with Pedrosa’s Laguna Seca success and Dovizioso’s maiden win at Donington Park.
And with seven races remaining in a thrilling title chase, Rossi is adamant that the Repsol Honda duo will still have a big say in deciding the outcome of the championship.
The 30-year-old Italian, currently relaxing on a summer break in Los Angeles, said: “I think Honda is going to be very competitive in the last seven races. It’s like they have fixed some problems in the last few races and they are very fast. So now in the last seven races the two Hondas will be there, so it will be trickier.”
Fiat Yamaha star Rossi will resume the series in Brno next weekend holding a comfortable 25-point lead over team-mate Jorge Lorenzo.
