German Stefan Bradl believes British sensation Scott Redding will be a serious contender for the 2009 125GP world championship.

Speaking at the launch of his Kiefer Racing Aprilia team at the famous Hockenheim circuit in Germany last week, Bradl short-listed Gloucestershire rider Redding as one of his four top picks for the title.

Bradl, who made his major GP breakthrough in 2008 when he won in the Czech Republic and Japan, also believes Italian Simone Corsi, Nicolas Terol and compatriot Sandro Cortese will pose big threats.

“For me the title favourites are Corsi, Terol, Redding, Cortese. But I want to check out how things evolve during first races, and then see what is possible for title hunt. I will try to be consistent and I think a lot of different people will win races this year.”

Redding became on overnight sensation in 2008 when he claimed a front row start on his world championship debut in Qatar.

He then created history in his home race at Donington Park when he became the first British rider in over three decades to win a 125GP.

His success also made him the youngest rider in history to win a Grand Prix.
