No shock Suzuki MotoGP return for John Hopkins

John Hopkins will not be making a shock return to the MotoGP world championship with Suzuki.
The American was back in the MotoGP paddock earlier this month at the German round on his way to the Brno World Superbike race.
Hopkins spoke to Suzuki management at the Sachsenring and MCN understands he was also checking options with the Pramac Ducati squad, with Niccolo Canepa likely to be axed after a tough rookie campaign.
Hopkins, who is currently trying to rebuild his career in WSB with the Stiggy Honda squad, left Suzuki at the end of 2007 having been lured by a big money deal at Kawasaki.
But Paul Denning said it was unlikely that Suzuki would consider Hopkins as a serious option for 2010, even though the Californian did finish fourth on the factory GSV-R in 2007.
Denning told MCN: “On all things never say never. John said he would love to be back in MotoGP and love to be back at Suzuki. But I don’t think it is a strong possibility for next year.”
