Tech 3 sign Jorge Lorenzo’s former boss

The French-based Tech 3 squad has pulled off a big coup by confirming that Jorge Lorenzo’s former Fiat Yamaha team boss will join its Moto2 effort in 2010.

Italian Daniele Romagnoli will work as Raffaele de Rosa’s crew chief in the new Moto2 squad. This year’s 250cc Rookie of the Year de Rosa will partner Japanese rider Yuki Takahashi in the Tech 3 squad.

Belgian Gary Reynders, who recently worked as crew chief for Colin Edwards and James Toseland in MotoGP will move to the role of Takahashi’s crew chief.

Tech 3 boss Herve Poncharal said: “I’m very happy that Daniele Romagnoli has agreed to join us. He has a top profile but more importantly he brings a lot of technical expertise and experience with him.

“I’ve no doubt that he will be a huge asset and his input will be vital in helping us develop the new bike.”
