Jorge Lorenzo: "I can win the title"

1 of 1

Jorge Lorenzo has told MCN his hopes of inflicting a shock MotoGP title defeat on Fiat Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi are back on track after a tedious but precious win in Estoril last weekend.

Lorenzo romped to his fourth win of the season to slash Rossi’s points advantage to just 18 after the Italian endured a torrid Portuguese GP.

Hampered by a lack of rear grip, Rossi could only finish fourth in a race branded a ‘disaster’.

Rossi’s frustration was in stark contrast to Lorenzo’s jubilation, the Spaniard telling MCN: “The championship is not finished now. After Brno when I crashed and was 50-points behind, I was thinking it would be fine to finish second. Now it is fine to finish second but we can also win the title, so I will try.”
