Nicky Hayden beats Ferrari F1 duo in kart race

Nicky Hayden claimed his first win of 2010 when he claimed a surprise success over Ferrari F1 duo Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa in a go-kart clash on ice last week.

Hayden also defeated factory Ducati team-mate Casey Stoner when he triumphed in the karting event that concluded Ducati and Ferrari’s lavish 2010 team launch in Madonna di Campiglio last week.

The American, who won the 2006 world championship for Repsol Honda, had earlier finished third behind Massa and Stoner in a race driving Fiat Panda’s.

Hayden and Aussie team-mate Stoner will be back in familiar two-wheel territory early next month when winter testing resumes at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.
