Rain ends Scott Redding’s MotoGP debut hopes

Rain has disrupted the final day of testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain today, ending Scott Redding’s hopes of making his first appearance on the Suter 1000cc MotoGP bike.

Despite a heavy crash on the Marc VDS Racing Moto2 machine yesterday that saw Redding hospitalised overnight as a precaution, the 17-year-old had hoped to complete some laps on BMW-powered Suter MotoGP project later today.

But rain that virtually washed out the first day in Jerez on Wednesday has struck again to prevent Redding from evaluating the new bike.

The Suter project, which has been designed for the new 2012 MotoGP rules when the current 800cc prototypes will be replaced by 1000cc four-stroke machines, has been given its first shakedown in Jerez by Carmelo Morales and Aussie Damien Cudlin.
