Misano Moto2: Márquez secures sixth win of season

Marc Márquez secured his sixth win of the season at Misano after a race long battle with Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) and Andrea Iannone (Speed Master), who took second and third respectively.

Bradl took the holeshot to lead the race, before a mistake saw him gifting the lead to Marquez and giving Scott Redding the opportunity to move into second.

Redding rode strongly to take the lead before gradually dropping off the pace, eventually moving back to fifth in lap thirteen with Alex de Angelis (JiR Moto2) taking fourth. Redding had to ride defensively to maintain fifth, finishing ahead of fellow Brit Bradley Smith (Tech 3 Racing) in sixth.

Iannone led until Márquez managed to pass the Italian on lap twenty-two and maintained the lead to take victory. Bradl passed Iannone on the penultimate lap to take second, whilst the Speed Master rider had to settle for third, his fourth podium finish of the season.
