Indianapolis Moto2: Kallio dominates to take win

Marc VDS rider Mika Kallio narrowed his team-mate’s championship lead to just seven points with victory in a shortened 16 lap race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Kallio led from pole position before the race was red flagged for an incident involving Mattia Pasini, Azlan Shah, Anthony West and Randy Krummenacher.

After medical attention at the side of the track, Pasini was able to walk away, albeit slowly.

Kallio continued his dominance at the restart, streaking away effortlessly to take victory by 1.380secs.

Second place went to Moto3 champion Maverick Vinales, with Dominique Aegerter in third. Kallio’s team-mate Esteve Rabat finished fourth.

Brit Sam Lowes ran off at turn 13 in the early stages of the race, rejoining the track to cross the line in 24th, outside the points.
