Kent cruises to home win

1 of 1

Danny Kent has cruised to a Moto3 win – and extended his championship lead further – after taking a win by almost nine seconds from Jakub Kornfeil as many of his title rivals crashed out.

Kent managed to escape the carnage in the opening laps of the wet race to get away behind Isaac Viñales, before he joined the fallers and allowed Kent through to lead to the chequered flag.

With Enea Bastianini and Brad Binder joining him on the DNF list – and Efren Vazquez, Romano Fenati and Miguel Olivera all well down the pecking order; Kent now holds a seventy-point lead in the title chase.

It was a good race for his fellow Brits too, with John McPhee benefitting from the race of attrition to take sixth, while wildcards Luke Hedger and Taz Taylor were eighteenth and nineteenth.
