Zarco takes dominant Moto2 win in drying conditions

Johann Zarco has extended his championship lead in Moto2, after taking a dominant win in a race of mixed conditions at Silverstone.

The Frenchman led almost from start to finish, benefitting from a poor start from pole man Sam Lowes to get away on the damp track with Tito Rabat, Alex Rins and Alex Marquez.

However, as the track started to dry out, he was able to pull clear of the chasing pack to eventually take the victory three seconds clear from Rins, with the battle between the MarcVDS teammates of Rabat and Marquez for third.

Lowes eventually came home in sixth place, losing a place in the closing stages to wet weather specialist Anthony West before recouping it for the place.
