Michelin schedule extra MotoGP tests

Michelin have scheduled an extra MotoGP test for late this month at Jerez, as they continue to refine their tyres ahead of the first official GP test at Sepang in early February.

Coming during the pre-season testing ban, the two-day test, with Ducati, Aprilia and Honda currently scheduled to attend, will be for test riders only, and looks set to feature Michele Pirro, Mike De Meglio and Hiroshi Aoyama and Takumi Takasashi respectively.

The test, coming in late December in an attempt to guarantee cold temperatures, an area where the Michelins are struggling so far,  is apparently to concentrate on the front end feeling, an area that many riders have been complaining about.

Coming from the ultra-grippy front Bridgestones, the Michelins appear to have a totally different balance, with a strong rear tyre but a front that gives a very different feeling.
