Redding left unimpressed by Abraham antics

Scott Redding finished the second Sepang test 16th fastest but the Marc VDS rider was pleased to have completed the programme as planned for the week. Redding logged 57 laps today and afterwards assessed his week by saying that he had met his main objectives for the week and that while his missed out on his target for his fastest lap he was pleased with the outcome of the test.

“We did a 2m00.6s today and I did a few 00’s today so we’re closing on the guys in front and I think that at Qatar we’ll make another step,” said Redding.

While Redding was pleased with his efforts and felt that he had made progress with the bike he was far less impressed about Karel Abraham. The Czech rider has come under fire in the past for looking to follow faster riders and today Redding was left frustrated by Abraham’s tactics:

“Don’t get me started with Abraham! He’s just always in the way and following. If he’s on a fast lap he could roll off and then he’s waiting and waiting. So on that lap I just wanted to give him some shit and he wanted to give me some shit back. I was thinking, ‘You don’t have any say in this because you’re just following me all the time.’ It was just a bit of pushy, pushy. It’s just annoying because it’s hot and you’re tired and he’s just always waiting at the same place every time you go out. It was just a bit of frustration really.”

This is the second time in two days that Abraham has been the focus of attention following an on track incident with Cal Crutchlow yesterday.
