Marquez leads Honda one-two in Germany

1 of 1

Marc Marquez topped the times in every session in Germany and waltzed away with the victory at the Sachsenring. While Jorge Lorenzo got the jump at the start Marquez was able to get past him in the early stages and once given clear track he was easily able to open a commanding lead.

Marquez was helped by Lorenzo fighting with Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa. Once the Honda rider got pats the Yamaha’s he had the pace to match Marquez but he had already given up too much ground at that point. It was a stagnant fight for the podium with the top four all having slightly different pace but able to pull away from the rest of the field.

Bradley Smith had another solid race with the Tech3 Yamaha rider finishing sixth ahead of Cal Crutchlow. It is Smith’s sixth top six finish of the year.

Scott Redding had the potential of a strong result but crashed out on the first lap.
