Crutchlow recovering and training ahead of Catalunya

Cal Crutchlow is on the road to recovery from his dislocated ankle with the LCR Honda rider cycling in Italy with his friend and Tour de France stage winner Mark Cavendish. The Englishman suffered his crash at the high speed Aribiata 1 corner after losing the front end and immediately suffered the injury.

Having decided to stay in Italy Crutchlow visited with a previous physio based in the country to develop a plan for his recovery. While the injury limits him at the moment by not being able to walk he has been able to develop a training plan based around cycling to allow him to keep his fitness ahead of next weekend’s Catalan Grand Prix. Crutchlow joked with MCN that “cycling is best for the injury so it helps that it’s all I do anyway!”

Having dislocated and fractured his ankle during qualifying at Silverstone in 2012 the Englishman, than racing for Tech3 Yamaha, started the race and finished sixth in front of his home crowd.
