Impressive speed from Corsi in Moto2

1 of 1

Having endured a difficult start to the Moto2 season, including crashing out of his home race two weeks ago, Simone Corsi bounced back to set the pace this morning ahead of Moto2 qualifying. The Italian set his fastest time late in the session but he has been close to the front all weekend and looks primed to have a strong showing in the Catalan Grand Prix.

Johann Zarco was second fastest and with the Frenchman having shown great consistency so far this weekend he will remain the favourite for both pole position and the victory as the looks to add to his championship lead. Tito Rabat was fourth fastest with his Marc VDS teammate, Alex Marquez, showing plenty of promise by ending the morning sixth fastest.

Sam Lowes and Alex Rins will both be disappointed to have finished outside the top ten but qualifying this afternoon will give them a chance to show their true pace.
