First win of 2015 for Rabat

Tito Rabat claimed his first win since Misano last year by taking advantage of a tight fight for second between Johann Zarco and Dominique Aegerther. The reigning world champion bided his time before hitting the front and opening a one second lead over Zarco however the Frenchman was on a mission in the final third of the race and there was plenty of tension on the last lap but Rabat held him at bay to take the flag.

Sam Lowes was involved in a tangle at the first corner with Simone Corsi. The Italian tried to close the door on Lowes but ultimately the Englishman couldn’t get out of the way and his front wheel tagged Corsi and put the Italian on the ground. Lowes dropped to ninth and had a battling ride to get back through to the leading group and the fight for the podium.
