Pole for Lowes with new lap record

Sam Lowes claimed his second pole position of the year at Mugello and the Englishman will have his sights firmly set on adding to his victory at COTA earlier in the year. The Speed Up rider has been in great form all weekend and ended the session a third of a second ahead of Dominique Aegerther. It wasn’t plain sailing for Lowes however after he had an early crash in the session.

Tito Rabat will start on the outside of the front row with fellow title contenders Thomas Luthi and Johann Zarco on the second row.
