Vinales learning more about electronics

Maverick Vinales continued his adaptation to MotoGP at the Jerez test with plenty of work undertaken to improve the electronics of the Suzuki GSXR-R. Vinales, a former Moto3 world champion, has looked more and more comfortable on the bigger machine and now looks ready to make a big step forward. With Le Mans next on the calendar, where he claimed his first Grand Prix victory in 2012, the Spaniard is looking stronger and stronger.

“We test a lot of electronic things, just to try to improve and try to adapt my style for more traction,” said Vinales. “We improved a lot and it was really positive. We worked in the same temperature as the race and improve nearly one-second. Also we test some different swing-arm that finally we get some positive things and some not. For Le Mans we’ll try to keep all the positive things. The biggest step was in the braking point, much more late and stable. Also with the hard tyre we improved a lot. For Le Mans we’ll keep working with the electronics and try to get a better set-up.”

When asked about his hopes for Le Mans Vinales was much more positive than his teammate, Aleix Espargaro, who said that the French track would be quite difficult for him due to his riding style.

“Here we improved a lot on the brakes so we are quite happy and positive for Le Mans because there is a lot of really hard braking. Also we are quite good in the slow corners, we just need to improve in the fast corners. So I think Le Mans will be a good track for us.”
