Suzuki and Maverick Viñales have become the focal point of 2016’s contract negotiations, as the young Spaniard considers offers not only to join Valentino Rossi at the Movistar Yamaha squad but also to remain there he is.

He is finally on a GSX-RR that is starting to come good, as evidenced by another strong run to sixth and fifth for him and teammate Aleix Espargaro respectively at Jerez, a track they expected to struggle at.

And the youngster has now also put a time limit on himself and when he will make his decision, admitting to the rumours that he wants to have his deal sorted for the next round in Le Mans in two weeks’ time.

“I want to make a decision fast, because now that Lorenzo has made his decision, I want to have mine done too. The race makes me think, because when you see Yamaha first and second and we are fifth and sixth you wonder, even though I still trust Suzuki and am confident they can show us results.”

His move is likely to also set of a chain of events as the crazy rider market continues to fluctuate. With Aleix Espargaro doing a good job to stake his claim for keeping his seat at the weekend, a number of riders have been linked to joining him, including both Andrea Iannone and Dovizioso, Dani Pedrosa, and even Cal Crutchlow.
