Moto2: Marc VDS duo Morbidelli and Marquez lead the way

1 of 1

The Marc VDS duo of Franco Morbidelli and Alex Marquez have led the way on the second day of action at the Qatar Grand Prix, topping the Moto2 time sheets from a strong performance by former Moto3 world champion Danny Kent.

The Marc VDS pair, who were strong in testing at the Losail track last week, ended the day’s sole session only 0.02 apart, but with a bigger 0.2 gap back to the Kiefer Racing Suter of Kent in third.

The Brit was one of two Swiss machines in the top five on their return to the class with teammate Dominique Aegerter denied fourth by yesterday’s fastest man Thomas Luthi, while an impressive ride from Xavi Vierge on the Tech 3 machine making it three manufacturers in the top six.

Fabio Quartararo led the provisional second row, ahead of the KTM of Miguel Olivera, with Marcel Schrotter and Jesko Raffin rounding out the top ten.
