1 of 1

Miguel Oliveira continued his recent run of form to top the opening day for the Moto2 class in Valencia, placing quickest in both of the Friday’s free practice sessions.

However, the Red Bull KTM rider took the top spot by just a whisper, clocking a lap time just 0.057 faster than Sky VR46 Racing’s Francesco Bagnaia.

The second KTM of Brad Binder was again third quickest ahead of Mattia Pasini while Alex Marquez rounded out the top five.

Takaaki Nakagami was sixth quickest for Idemitsu Honda ahead of recently crowned champion Takaaki Nakagami. Ricard Cardus, Hafizh Syahrin and Xavi Vierge rounded out the top ten.

British riders Tarran Mackenzie and Jake Dixon brought up the rear of the field.
