1 of 1

Italian racer Tony Arbolino has taken his maiden pole position for tomorrow’s Argentinian Grand Prix, by timing his qualifying run to perfection in tricky conditions and taking the top spot from Mario Bezzecchi and local favourite Gabriel Rodrigo.

The Marinelli Snipers Honda rider timed his fast lap for the final stages of the day – but got his time in just before more rain started to fall on the track’s dry line to take the top spot from his fellow Italian by 0.306 seconds.

Malaysian rider Adam Norrodin made the most of his experience in tricky conditions to take his best ever qualifying in fourth, ahead of Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio, while Niccolo Antonelli, Aron Canet, Jorge Martin and Andrea Migno rounded out the top ten.

British rider John McPhee suffered through a difficult ay to qualify 22nd on the CIP Moto KTM at the circuit where he took a podium finish twelve months ago.
