Moto2: Marquez quickest in FP2 washout

Alex Marquez was quickest in a washout second Moto2 practice at Silverstone this afternoon.

The session started dry, but it wasn’t long before the heavens opened above the Northamptonshire circuit leading to a quiet period as riders assessed the situation.

With new asphalt all the way around the 3.6-mile course, the Moto2 class was the first test of grip levels in the wet.

Just a handful of riders were able to set times in the drier conditions, dictating the top of the timesheets while some riders opted not to head out, including this morning’s quickest man Marcel Schrotter.
