MotoGP: Marquez dominates as chaos ensures behind

1 of 1

Marc Marquez has dominated the Spanish Grand Prix to take his first premier class win at the Jerez circuit, taking a controlling victory from Johann Zarco by over five seconds, with Andrea Iannone picking up the final podium spot in third.

However, chaos ensured behind him when a racing incident between Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa took all three of them out of the race. Dovizioso ran his teammate wide with an ambitious overtaking manoeuvre, only for Lorenzo to cut back across onto the racing line right into the side of Pedrosa.

They weren’t the only fallers in the race of attrition though, with pole position starter Cal Crutchlow and Suzuki rider Alex Rins also fallers from the battle for a podium.
