Moto3: Canet takes first win for Max Biaggi's team

Aron Canet has taken the first win for Max Biaggi’s new Moto3 team in the Grand Prix of the Americas, delivering a knockout blow in the closing laps to take the win from a late-charging Jaume Masia and Argentine Gabriel Rodrigo.

Speaking afterwards, the Spaniard said: “I feel wonderful! It’s great to regain the first position, it’s a great feeling. I tried to push hard, trying to use the rear tire well. In the first part of the race I checked more and in the end my strategy was correct and I am very satisfied.”

Brit John McPhee struggled in the race to come home in 14th, pipped to the line by a mere 0.001, while Tom Booth-Amos crashed out in the early stages.
