MotoGP: Rossi confirmed as returning to Monza Rally

1 of 1

Valentino Rossi will return to the Monza Rally next month as he sets out to defend the title he lifted last year in the car race set in the forest park surrounding one of Italy’s held on the circuit, old banking, and parklands of Italy’s historic Monza circuit

Rossi has made the race his own in recent years, taking four victories at the race and holding off World Rally Championship regular Thierry Neuville to win by nearly a minute in last year’s race.

Rossi is also traditionally joined at the race by a team of close mates, with best friend Uccio Salucci and former team boss Davide Brivio also racing under the VR46 banner in past years, in a fleet of Ford Fiesta ST rally cars prepared by British-based firm M-Spotrt.

The event is a prestigious event in the car world, with past winners including nine-time WRC champion Sebastian Loeb and F1 race winner Robert Kubica.
