Guy Martin wins Southern 100 ‘championship’ race

Guy Martin finally got the better of Ryan Farquhar in yesterday’s third and final day of racing at the on the 4.25mile Billown road course near Castletown.

Martin’s Hydrex Honda crossed the line in the Southern 100 Protours Solo Championship race 0.16s ahead of the KMR Kawasaki of Farquhar at the end of the nine-lap scrap.

Farquhar though added the 600 race to his Southern 100 win tally making it four wins plus a second from his five starts.

William Dunlop came out on top in the 250 race and was the 125 class winner in the combined 400/125 race. Roy Richardson took the overall win and the 400 honours riding a Yamaha.
