Scores turn out for Simon Andrews send-off

Scores of bikers as well as top racers from both the road racing and MCE British Superbike paddock turned out yesterday at Worcester Cathedral to say their goodbyes to Simon Andrews, who tragically lost his life competing at the North West 200 last month.

Andrews, a hugely popular figure in the paddock, was laid to rest in a ceremony led by the Reverend Richard Court, with emotional eulogies from his father Stuart and best friend Charlie Aitchison, while other tributes were read out by the Minister from his brother James and friend Andy Breakwell.

Reverend Court also read a letter from the medical team at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital, revealing that Simon’s donated organs have changed the lives of four people, including saving a young father of two who received the 32 year olds’ heart.
