Former Norton TT rider Dan Hegarty has teamed up with Downshift Motorsport for a joint campaign on the road racing season as well as the National Superstock 1000 series. He’ll also be joined on the circuits by twenty five year old James East.

Hegarty, who made a name for himself at the TT competing for Norton and Ian Lougher’s ILR Kawasaki, will be out to improve on his best result at the race, narrowly missing out on a top twenty in 21st in last year’s Superstock TT. Riding for the team at the Ulster Grand Prix, Southern 100, Scarborough races and potentially Macau, he’ll have superbike, superstock, supersport and supertwin machinery at his disposal.

He’ll be joined by East for the National Superstock series, where the Royston native established himself as a points scorer in 2014. The team, run by team boss and mechanic Dave Hopkinson, have already completed the start of their pre-season testing, spending three days on Spain’s Cartagena circuit.
