Former Irish champion Sheils to ride BikeBitsNI Kawasaki

2013 Irish Superbike champion Derek Sheils has penned a deal with County Down-based team BikeBitsNI Kawasaki. The deal will see him compete under their colours on both supersport and superbike machinery at the Isle of Man TT, Ulster Grand Prix and national road races.

Sheils, also a former short circuit champion, will also take in the Adelaide Masters series he won in 2013.

Team boss Johnny Annett commented after the deal was announced: “I’m really excited for the 2015 season now. We’ve got a top class rider, really good bikes and I think that we’ll have a really strong package all round. I sat down with Derek a couple of weeks ago and we worked out a deal. It’ll be a new challenge for us as a team especially with the road racing but I’m looking forward to the season and getting stuck in. A massive thanks to all of our sponsors, both those who have been with us for many years and also those new who have came onboard for 2015.”
