Northern Irish British Supersport frontrunner Glenn Irwin will have a new sponsor for his 2015 circuit campaign in the form of the world’s fastest road race. Irwin, who is planning a road racing assault in addition to his BSS title hopes for 2015, made his pure roads debut at the event in 2014.

Speaking after the announcement was made, the 24 year old says the added pressure of being a title favourite as well as a brand ambassador for the race simply motivates him more.

“For me personally, having the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix come on board to sponsor me has been a massive boost. It’s the world’s fastest road race and having such great local support shows how just many people believe in me.”

“Together we can help promote UGP Bike Week and hopefully we can attract even more fans because it’s such a fantastic event. I loved it last year and I genuinely can’t wait to get back out on the roads again, nothing compares to the feeling.”

Noel Johnston, Clerk of the Course at the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix added: “Glenn is one of our brightest young racers and a great ambassador for our sport. We are proud to offer him our support this year.”

“Sponsoring him offers us a great platform to promote the Ulster Grand Prix in BSB, one of the most popular and competitive championships in the world, and if he can remain consistent I’m sure he’ll enjoy another great season.”
