High winds lead to cancellation of Saturday action

1 of 1

Today’s action at the TT has been cancelled after high winds on the island left the organisers with no option but to call off the planned programme of the first Sidecar race and a solo practice session. The conditions have been treacherous today with a helicopter crash claiming the life of the pilot and with the winds still gusting it’s not possible for the safety helicopters to fly.

Initially the revised timetable for Saturday saw the roads scheduled to close at 10am with solo practice in the morning and the sidecar race at 2pm. However, this plan was changed in the morning with the sidecar’s pushed to 4pm with practice following it.

A schedule for tomorrow has not been released yet.
