Guy Martin and William Dunlop will make their racing debut on the Tyco BMWs next month at the traditional Irish national season opener, the Cookstown 100.

Martin and Dunlop, both successful riders around the circuit, are looking forward to getting their season underway, with Martin saying the two day meeting is the perfect way to get up to speed.

“Yeah, Cookstown is always a great way to blow off the winter cobwebs and having already tested the BMW in Spain, I’m really looking forward to it now.

I missed last year and quite a bit of good racing from what I hear, so it’ll be a good way to roll out the big BMW for the first time. Yeah it’ll be mint and I’m sure a few of the other top boys will turn up for a decent bit of racing.”

Dunlop, who narrowly lost out on a win last year on corrected time, says he that it’s just given him an added incentive to support the local race this year.

“It’s a great little circuit and the Club put on a top event, so I’ll being doing my best to try to notch up my first win for Tyco BMW. We had a great test in Spain recently and I really enjoyed riding the S1000RR, so it’s time to add in a few lumps and bumps at a national road race, but I’m sure we will can put on a decent show and the fans turn out in force to see us.”
