TT Privateer Champion Lintin enjoys positive Spanish test

2014 Isle of Man TT Privateers’ Champion Ivan Lintin has enjoyed a positive first run out on his RC Express Racing Kawasakis, taking to Spain’s Cartagena circuit last week in preparation for the upcoming road racing season.

The thirty year old was able to complete over seventy laps on each of his three days on his debut at the Murcian circuit, lapping on the team’s ZX-10R superbike and superstock machines as well as their ZX-6R supersport bike.

Even a small crash on the superbike didn’t slow him down, and the Lincolnshire rider says he’s now ready to go ahead of his first race next month at Scarborough.

“It’s the first time I’ve ever done any overseas testing and with it being my first time on a bike since last September’s Gold Cup and my first time out with the team and on the Kawasaki’s, there was a lot to take on board but I can’t fault how the week went. I gelled really well with the team and worked well with my mechanic Danny and Richard of Maxton to gradually improve the set-up of all the bikes and aside from flinging myself over the handlebars on the Superbike on the final day, it’s been great.”

“We got a terrific amount of track time on all the bikes and it proved invaluable as the Superbike and Superstock are certainly a lot more powerful than anything I’ve ever ridden before. The 600 is a bit more ‘work in progress’ but it’s a lovely bike to ride and all in all it’s been a good shakedown. I was positive about the season ahead before we came testing but now even more so and I can’t wait to get to the International road races and show what we can do.”
