Hutchinson switches MV Agusta for Yamaha at eleventh hour

Five-in-a-week TT winner Ian Hutchinson will make an eleventh hour switch from MV Agusta machinery to Keith Flint’s Team TTC Yamaha squad the day before the 2015 Isle of Man TT is set to kick off.

Hutchinson was originally set to ride alongside MCN Senior Road Tester Adam ‘Chad’ Child on British Supersport team Tsingtao MV Agusta’s Italian machines, but were forced to withdraw after the team were unable to prepare the machines in time.

Instead, Hutchinson will now switch to the TTC Yamahas ran by Prodigy front man Keith Flint. Hutchinson has previous experience with the bikes, with the team buying the Milwaukee Yamaha supersport machines the Yorkshireman rode at last year’s TT after the event.

“It is a privilege to be working with Keith Flint and the team and I know how much they love their racing. I have worked with Grant Bunting from TTC before so to be able to have this opportunity to work with them is just what I need.

“I am looking forward to it and as I haven’t ridden the TTC bike before we need to have a good practice week and get a feel for it, but I know the team have the ability from what they have done this season and in the past. We just need to get our heads down and then hopefully my confidence that I have had this year from Superbike and Superstock can cross over into Supersport too. I want to go out and have a good go at it that’s for sure.”

Meanwhile, Child, who will line up on the Norton supertwin project and will join John McGuinness as his teammate on the EMC2 Honda superstock team, will now sit out the supersport class.
