TT 2016: Lintin takes back-to-back Lightweight wins

1 of 1

Ivan Lintin took victory in today’s Lightweight TT after holding off a hard-charging James Hillier to take back-to-back wins in the 650 twins class.

Hillier had taken the lead on the first lap but with nothing between them, Lintin upped his game into lap two and entered the pits just a second ahead of the Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider. A much better pit stop saw Lintin gain seven seconds on the run down to Glen Helen as the second half of the race got underway and there was no looking back from there as he crossed the line 11.781 seconds ahead of Hillier.

Martin Jessopp took a remarkable debut TT podium in third, ahead of Gary Johnson and Stefano Bonetti with Dan Cooper, who was involved in that nasty North West 200 crash with Ryan Farquhar, completing the top six.

Jamie Coward was seventh ahead of Colin Stephenson, with Bjorn Gunnarsson and James Cowton rounding out the top ten.
