Roads: Seeley sticks with Gearlink Kawasaki for North West 200

1 of 1

The most successful rider in North West 200 history, Alastair Seeley will return to the event in 2017 after penning a deal to remain with Gearlink Kawasaki.

The Ulsterman will ride Gearlink’s famous green and orange ZX-6R in the two Supersport races this year, sticking with the combination that saw  him win both 600cc outings in 2017 to better Robert Dunlop’s win record.

“I’m looking forward to joining the Gearlink Kawasaki team again on the record breaking ZX-6R,” Seeley said. “Everything I asked from the team in 2016 was given to me, the same again would be nice and repeat results would be awesome!

“My crew chief Arron will once again get the bike dialled in like in 2013 and last year and hopefully that’ll mean we can pick up where we left off.”

Seeley is still to confirm what 1000cc machinery he’ll ride at the event after being unable to secure a full-time ride in British Championships as of yet. A tough season in the Superbike class with the RAF Reserves squad has left him looking at options in the Supersport and Superstock classes, but with most teams requiring riders to bring a hefty budget, Seeley is yet to confirm his future.

However, he has confirmed he does have both Superbike and Superstock machinery on offer for the iconic North West races.
