TT 2017: Revised race schedule announced

1 of 1

Isle of Man TT bosses have announced a new race schedule in response to the weather having wreaked havoc with this week’s planned practice sessions.

Just Tuesday practice has run so far this week with riders only able to get one lap in Wednesday’s session as poor weather rolled in across the course.

Rain on Thurday saw a further cancellation, forcing race bosses to re-consider the planned schedule for racing with riders only having completed a handful of laps of the gruelling 37.73-mile course so far.

With the weather forecast much more favourable for the weekend, practice will go ahead as planned on Friday but significant changes have been made to the race schedule to allow for extra practice laps while the roads are closed on Saturday.

The opening Superbike place, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday morning, will now set off at 2pm on Sunday ahead of a number of practice laps.

The schedule changes includes alterations to Monday’s schedule too, with the Supersport race setting off in the morning ahead of the opening sidecar race which was due to go on Saturday. The Superstock race now moves to Tuesday.

Wednesday onwards remains as scheduled.
