Roads: Armoy looking for title sponsor

1 of 1

Organisers of the Armoy Road Races have put out a plea to attract title sponsorship for the event set to go ahead at the end of July.

The move comes as a number of other Irish road races, including the Kells and Killalane events scheduled to take place in the Republic of Ireland this year, have been cancelled due to recent price hikes in insurance premiums.

“We are now entering into our ninth year and the growth that has taken place over those years could not have happened without the valuable support and engagement from our sponsors,” said Armoy Clerk of the Course Bill Kennedy.

“Without sponsors, there are no Armoy Road Races. Regarding a 2017 title sponsor, I would urge that if anyone is interested in sponsoring, supporting or engaging with us, I’ll only be too glad to talk to them.”

Brian McGrath, of SGS International who has supported Armoy for the past two years as title sponsor said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the Armoy Road Races over the years. Bill and his team organise a fantastic race schedule and the atmosphere in Armoy is unlike any other on the road racing calendar. I encourage anyone thinking of sponsoring the races to get on board with one of the most exciting road races in Ireland!”
