FHO Racing BMW and Gas Monkey Garage have formed a new partnership which will see the car customisation company become the title sponsor of the team at the Isle of Man TT.

Gas Monkey Garage is owned by American entrepreneur Richard Rawlings and is showcased to car enthusiasts here in the UK via the Fast N’ Loud TV show on the Discovery Channel.

Gas Monkey can be found in Dallas, Texas and was originally formed in 2004. Currently, the brand has a staggering 20+ million followers across its social media channels and has become a popular brand within the pop culture sector.

At this year’s TT the team will be known as Gas Monkey BMW by FHO Racing and will run a special livery to showcase the new partnership. The iconic Gas Monkey logos can be seen across the bike, which is primarily green with dashes of white and black.

“The entire Gas Monkey family and I are ecstatic to be involved in this year’s Isle of Man TT! Getting the chance to be a part of the largest single viewed sporting event and the world’s longest standing time trials is a dream come true,” Rawlings said.

“We are honoured to be alongside the legendary FHO Racing, Team BMW, and the Fastest Man on Two Wheels, Peter Hickman, for a race that is surely to go down in the history books. We look forward to seeing Gas Monkey on the podium come June!”

Peter Hickman will lead the team’s road racing project alongside Brian McCormack and will be keen to add to his current tally of five wins and 14 podiums. He also holds the current lap record at the TT, posting the fastest speed of 135.452mph in 2018.

The TT has been cancelled for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Starting in 2022 the TT is set to undergo the biggest and most significant era of change and development ever undertaken at the event.

“I’m really happy to announce this new partnership with Gas Monkey Garage ahead of this year’s Isle of Man TT Races,” team owner Faye Ho said. “We worked extremely hard as a team in our first year to show our potential and both Peter and the team are excited about taking that to the TT, even more so with the partnership with Richard and the Gas Monkey family.

“It’s always important to attract new sponsors to the sport and we’re grateful to the support and commitment they’ve shown, and we aim to repay that faith by delivering a strong set of results at this year’s TT.”
