Superbike rider swaps Hondas with IndyCar champ

1 of 1

AMA Superbike contender Nicky Hayden and Indy Car racer Michael Andretti are going to swap their race machines in a one-off test at the Mid-Ohio track in America.

Hayden will get to drive the Motorola Honda Indy car, whereas Andretti will try his hand on the RC51 Superbike.

It’s scheduled to happen this week, which is surprising, since the final race of the season takes place on August 10 at Virginia International Raceway. It’s also a shock because Hayden is currently leading the points standings, and the Indy car is a methanol fuelled 800hp race car, with a top speed of over 245mph. Honda obviously have a lot of faith in Hayden.
