Whitham out of Oschersleben WSS

Jamie Whitham has pulled out of this weekend’s World Supersport round at Oschersleben, Germany.

The Belgarda Yamaha rider is still suffering from the effects of his horrendous 130mph crash at Brands Hatch, where he broke his elbow. But it’s not the recently healed break that’s causing the trouble.

Whitham told MCN: ” It’s my knees that are the problem. I damaged some ligaments there at Brands and they haven’t recovered. It’s not the pain that bothers me, but I just can’t move around the bike the way I should.

” Oschersleben is a very demanding circuit with lots of changes of direction and tough corners. I did four laps and decided that was it. I felt like a liability out there. ”
